His worried friends noticed how terribly thin and. Drawn he was and did their best to cheer him up. Narration (by Robert Morley) from the scene in. Image appears, from The Dot and the Line. From my personal collection for your consideration: a beautifully framed, signed original hand-painted production cel from animation legend Chuck Jones' The Dot and the Line: A Romance in Lower Mathematics (1965). The delightful tale of a "sensible straight line" hopelessly in love with a dot who prefers a more exciting squiggle, won the 1965 Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film. Jones both produced and directed the 10-minute short, with Maurice Noble co-directing and designing the production.
The cel image appears about 3:02 into the short. The cel and frame are in excellent condition. The overall framed size is 19.50" x 17.00" (49.53 x 43.18 cm).
The size of the cel image area (mat cutout) in the double mat is 9.50" x 12.00" (24.13 x 30.48 cm). The frame is a bright red plastic. Glazing is with plexiglass and there is a hanging wire in place. Chuck Jones signed the cel boldly in marker and a seal of authenticity from Linda Jones Enterprises appears in the lower right corner. There is also a label from the Circle Fine Art Corp. The distributor, on the back of the frame. PLEASE NOTE: The white and other similar streaks or artifacts in the photos are reflections and not flaws. The opening and closing titles in the first composite photo are for illustration only. For the record, the lettering seen in the photos as a watermark is not on the actual cel or frame. Feel free to write with any questions.
